LinkedIn for plumbing marketingLinkedIn is one of the most popular social media sites for professionals. Its a great way to form strong business referral relationships that are mutually beneficial. Similar in nature to other social media sites LinkedIn cuts out a lot of the fluff found on sites like Facebook and Twitter because the focus is business. When using LinkedIn for your plumbing marketing there are a few things you need to do in order to take full advantage of all of LinkedIn’s wonderful features.

  1. Complete Your Profile in It’s Entirety

One of the most important parts of mastering your LinkedIn profile for plumbing marketing is to make sure you complete your profile. There is a lot of information that goes into a LinkedIn profile so take the time and fill it out to get the most out of LinkedIn. Explain what your business does, who your customers are, areas of expertise, things you are interested in, and don’t hesitate to showcase your accomplishments. All areas allow for you to connect with individuals who share the same interests or who have professional questions.

  2. A Professional Profile Picture

A professional profile picture is an absolute must. Head shots are always good. People like to see who they are connecting with so logos make for good subsequent pictures but avoid using them for profile pictures. Make sure you profile

picture is clear and full of clutter, also avoid using a profile picture that is too personal; while we love pets we don’t recommend using a profile picture with your pet. You don’t have to pay for a professional shot either, most cameras and even smart phones are able to capture a professional looking shot. Remember its more important to have a profile picture than none at all. Profiles that have a profile picture are not only more likely to get more connections but also get more views in general. So do not forgo the profile picture.

  3. Optimize Your Profile

Like we said before LinkedIn provides a ton of space to write information about your business, so use this to your advantage when using LinkedIn for plumbing marketing. SEO never stops when you are working on your plumbing marketing, you should optimize at every chance you get. Infiltrate you LinkedIn profile with your keywords, just make sure to stay relevant and fluid. Key word stuffing is still frowned upon so maintain balance. Properly optimizing you LinkedIn profile will not only help with your search rankings but also help you rank with internally with LinkedIn search (which is actually pretty extensive and useful more on that later).

  4. Post and Share

Like most other social media sites, LinkedIn is also content driven. So share and post frequently. You want to build engagement for your brand so share on your profile as well as in groups. Of course keep things business related and relevant, there are other sites that are better suited for more personal status updates. Also when posting groups its important to participate in discussions. A back and forth rapport is a great way to make a lasting networking partner, and who knows you may learn something!
