How to Be Successful with Your Social Media Strategy

By now most every business has embraced some form of social media strategy. These days, everyone is on social media, from tweens all the way to grandparents. Social media makes for a great way to stay in contact with loved ones and presents an excellent opportunity to market your business, brand your business, build traffic to your website, and engage with customers. Forming the right social media strategy is crucial for gaining success using social media for plumbing marketing.

 

#1 Establish Your Target Audience

The first step in creating a successful social media strategy is to establish you target audience. By identifying who you are marketing to you will be better able to put more effort in the social media channels that are likely to harbor your target audience. For example, social media sites like Vine, Tumblr, and Instagram tend to attract a younger crowd, whereas parents and grandparents alike gravitate towards Facebook. LinkedIn is dominated by professional types, and Pinterest has mostly a female base. Research the demographics of each social media site to determine where it is that your target audience is most likely to spend their time.

 

#2 Optimize

When setting up your social media profiles it is important to make sure you optimize your profiles. Most social media profiles provide ample space to write a little bit about yourself. These sections should be optimized using your keywords. Never miss an opportunity to optimize. This helps with your search ranking and also helps you populate in search on the social media site.

 

#3 Image

Part of being successful with your social media strategy is crafting your image. From your profile picture to your cover picture, and all of the subsequent images you add. The images you use in your profile will affect the first impression people get of your brand. So, it is important to make sure that you image that are professional, good quality, and are relevant to your brand. In addition, forgoing images altogether is not professional and sends the wrong message. It shows that you are not very active on social media for one, and can actually deter people from friending or following you.

 

#4 Universal Front

When it comes to your social media strategy it is important to form a universal front. What this means is to keep all of your social media sites uniform. Make sure you user name is the same, and incorporate the same language to strengthen your brand. If someone friends you on Facebook, then decides to follow you on Twitter, your image on both sites should mimic each other. While there are differences between how the two its operate, people should be able to easily recognize your brand on any site that you utilize.

#5 Update Often

One of the most important parts of running a successful social media strategy is to make sure you are updating your profiles frequently and consistently. At least several times a week if not more. The more you update your feed, the more visibility you will receive. These days it can be hard to get the visibility you want, so utilize good images and attention grabbing headlines.
