Video Upload Optimization

Step 1 – Keyword research

  1. Google Suggest

  7. Use ‘Common Sense’ around what people would search

Step 2 – Write a great title and include focused keyword phrase  (Generally 5-6 words make up the title)

Step 3 –  Write a description

  1. Write 100 – 400 words describing the video including the focused keyword phrase

  2. Place the URL  (include http:// at the beginning (before ANY text) of the description

  3. Include any resource links, be as helpful as possible

  4. Add a strong “call to action” at the bottom of the description

Step 4 – Add focus keyword phrase (s) (tags)

  1. Add keyword phrase (s)  in “Quotes” or grouped together

  2. Don’t list too many keywords, it dilutes the message

Step 1 – Awareness & Link Building

  1. Post Status Update (Video Title/Video URL) on social media sites; Facebook business page, Facebook profile, Twitter, LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn business page, Instagram stories, Instagram post, Pinterest, Google+

  2. Add (embed) video to companies Blog/Website and include transcript on the page. Include a hyperlink with good anchor text with keyword phrase (s) to the YouTube video. (document URL and promote blog page)

  3. Add (embed) video to companies Blogger account. Include a hyperlink with good anchor text with keyword phrase (s) to the YouTube video. (document URL and promote blog page)

  4. Add (embed) video to companies WordPress.org  account. Include a hyperlink with good anchor text with keyword phrase (s) to the YouTube video. (document URL and promote blog page)

  5. Add (embed) video to companies Medium account. Include a hyperlink with good anchor text with keyword phrase (s) to the YouTube video. (document URL and promote blog page)

  6. Add (embed) video to companies LinkedIn Publishing account. Include a hyperlink with good anchor text with keyword phrase (s) to the YouTube video. (document URL and promote blog page)

  7. Post YouTube video to clients Tumblr account.

  8. Social Bookmarking – Use the social share buttons to share the video to Social Bookmarking sites: LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, Twitter,  Blogger, Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious, Email Button

  1. Create a press release and submit to 100 press release sites using SubmitInMe.com or Fiverr

  2. Email your email marketing list in MailChimp, Constant Contact, or CRM!

 

Step 2 – Annotations ‘Call To Action’ Buttons – Annotations are ‘clickable’ links/buttons in your video.

 

  1. Add annotations at the middle or end of the video

  2. Also, do verbal descriptions in the video to point out the annotation. (Example:

  3. Use One ‘Call To Action’ – Examples: “Please Thumbs Up If You Like The Video”, “Like This Video – Please Subscribe & Give It A Thumbs Up!”, “Don’t Forget To Subscribe”,  “Like This Video? Watch This Video Next!”, “Share Your Thoughts, Comment Below”

Step 3 – Create Playlists

  1. Set up a playlists

  1. Be specific on keyword selection (see above section called ‘Video Upload Optimization’) and follow details just like you are uploading a video. Include good title,  description, and keywords.

  2. Document playlist URL for marketing

  1. Follow second section ‘Video Syndication’ to optimize playlist URL (just like you would with a Youtube video)

Step 3 – Add Transcription File

  1. Upload a transcription of your video

  1. Use YouTube transcription service or Fiverr.com to get a good transcription of the video

  2. Under ‘Captions and Subtitles’ in YouTube, upload the .txt transcription file

  1. If possible add ‘closed caption’ to the video. Closed captions are a text version of the spoke part of the video.

  1. Yes, we want video responses to OUR videos, YET, we can create a video response to other peoples videos.

  2. Post your video response (your YouTube video) in the comments section of another (HIGHLY RELEVANT/SAME TIMELY TOPIC) YouTube video. Make sure your video adds value and does not upset the original YouTube Channel or it will be taken down and removed from the comments.

  3. Ask the video owner to accept your video response!

  4. Comment and interact with other relevant videos
