As you are probably well aware, having a social media strategy for your plumbing marketing is a must these days. With everyone on social media the exposure is to great to pass up. Regardless of if you are an accomplished social media marketing or have only dabbled with it, there is always ways you can improve your social media strategy. Here are some tips for a better social media strategy.

 

#1 Put Your Brand into It

Part of creating a better social media strategy is to put your brand into it. Social media is a great way to increase brand awareness. Having strong branding also helps pull your whole social media strategy by presenting a cohesive front. Incorporate elements of your brand like: logo, slogan, color scheme, professional head shot, and other images. Remember to keep things consistent with all of your social media profiles.

 

#2 Put Your Personality into It

Social media users like to feel like they are associating with real people on the other end. They don’t want to feel like they are dealing with a robot, which is why it is ok to incorporate aspects of your personality into your social media profiles. A great place to do this is with your profile picture. While you want to incorporate aspects of your brand, you also want to make things personal. Which is why a head-shot is best for profile pictures.

 

#3 Participate

Another important aspect of your social media strategy is your participation. It is important to make sure that you are taking an active participation in your social media. Engage with people, acknowledge your following, participate in conversations, like, share. When it comes to social media, thins are often reciprocal, meaning you give a like you get a like back. You will get a better reaction from your following when you take an active interest in them.

 

#4 Share, Share, Share

Part of gaining success with social media is your ability to share quality, relevant, unique content. Think of social media as a platform to distribute all of your content. The social media strategymore you share the more visibility you will get, and the better engagement you will received. Content is the main driving factor of social media, without content it doesn’t exist.

 

#5 Diversify Profiles

Diversify your social media strategy. Try different social media profiles to see what works for you. Remember, social media is not a one shoe fits all type of deal. What works for one, may not work for another, however in order to see what works for you, you need to experiment with different sites. You also don’t want to miss out on potential exposure. Different social media sites attract different types of users. To get the most out of your social media experience, identifying who your customers base is and where they are more than likely to be socially online is crucial.

 

#6 Diversify Content

Just as it is important to diversify your social media profiles, it is also important to diversify the type of content you promote. The good content is paramount, and part of having a well-rounded content strategy is offering a variety of content. From, blogs, micro blogs, images, memes, infographics, video, video stories, and live streaming. Its all relevant these days and each type of content speaks to a different type of user. You want to gain the broadest reach when it comes to your content distribution, and one way to achieve that is to promote different types of content.  This year, we saw a surge in live streaming and video stories as more social media profiles adopted the medium. This isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Play around with it and see what works for you.
